October 2008

October was a fairly uneventful month for the Tomlin family... the biggest excitement was that Emma got strep throat... other than that, things were pretty calm. Cory is doing well, working and fitting in the occasional golf game. He did get to play in a tournament last week. We actually got to have a date night which was good for us. Long overdue. Emma went to her Papaw and Dee Dee's house in G.S. and spent the night so Dee Dee could babysit while Mama had clinical and Daddy played golf. We've really enjoyed the weather lately. My dad's football team is doing well this year. We're going to get to see a game this weekend... My Longhorns.. wow.. how I am so disappointed. I can't even talk about it.. You can't be a #1 team when you show up and play like you did last weekend. Oh it's sickening and it's going to take me some time to get over this game against Tech. Awful.. that's about how you describe it... you can't wait until there's 5 minutes left in the game and decide you want to start playing.. then if the opposing quarterback throws a ball right directly at you.. CATCH THE BALL YOU IDIOT!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, underlying frustrations here.
Anyways... we're all doing really well... school is winding down for me this semester. Thank you Lord. I have survived thus far and have not had to start taking any medications yet to get through... I only have two clinical days left and two tests left. My professional project (thesis project) is almost complete as well. I am waiting on the 2nd reader to approve my project and I will do my last defense of the project and turn it in!!!!!!!! It's hard to believe that I am going to graduate in May. Scary but exciting.
Thank you for checking on us... Love to you all.
Tomlins
